4th generation Sons of Jan3 Brouwer (Derck2, Johannes1)
a) Jan4 (Jan 3, Derck2, Johannes 1) bpt 20 March 1726 Jamaica, --Most likely the underage John son of John who inherited his great uncle Hendrick’s farm in 1738 and moved to Hempstead after his father,Jan3, died in 1732 and was raised by Cornelia the wife of Hendrick. Jan4 grew up in Hempstead and there married Hannah Abrams 9 Aug 1753.
Children of Jan4 and Hannah are
Henry5, Charles5, Samuel5, John5, Sarah5, Letty5 (1760) and Elizabeth5,
and Elias5 (1764) --> married in 1792 Hannah (b 1770):
Children of Elias5(Jan4, Jan3, Derck2, Johannes1) and Hannah (b 1770) are:
Hollet6 1793, Jane 1795, Molley 1797, Sarah 1799, Peggey 1800, Julia Ann 1804, Isreal6 1806 + Charlotte Seaman, and William6 1807+ Jane Seaman
---------------------------------
b) Derck4 (Jan3, Derck2 Johannes1) bpt 21 jun 1730 Raritan (Somerville) NJ -- moved with his brother Jan4 to Hempstead after his father,Jan3, died in 1732 and was raised by Cornelia the wife of Hendrick. He married Annetje (Hanna) ca. 1759. Children of Derck4 and Annetje:
Maria5, Jan 5 and Oliver5. -- also possibly George, Job and Richard who appear in the census of 1800 [p. 257 NYG&B Vol 137 (2007) note 76]
The earliest record of Derck4 is the 11 June 1760 baptisim of Maria, daughter of Derick and Annetie Browuer at the Success Dutch Reformed Church.
On June 1762 Dirrick and Annetie Brouwer had Jan5, baptized in the same church.
3 November 1762 Derick Brewer had his ear mark recorded in Hempstead.
In 1776 Richard Brewer signed an oath of allegiance to Congress in January (Frederic G. Mather, Refugees of 1776 from Long Island p1052 -- and to the King in October (Henry Onderdonk, Revolutionary incidence at Queens County. pg 123)
On August 1782 Oliver5, son of Richard and Hanna Brewer was baptized at St. Georges Angelican Church, Hempstead. As Oliver married in 1798, he may not have been an infant at the time of baptism. However, he must have been many years younger than his brother Jan5,suggesting Richard and Hanna had other children as well. These other sons, who were not sons of Jan4 in Hempstead and may have belonged to Richard are:
Jacob b. before 1755 per 1800 census (least likely to be Richard;s son.)
James b. 1755+ m. Sarah and had John, James, Eilliam, Mary,Phebe,and Abigail -- all baptized 1795.
Richard born 1755+ m. Phebe and had Mary 1793 and others.
George. born 1755-1774 m.Ann Combs in 1793
Job, born 1755-1774 m. and had issue by 1800
There is no Elias -- is this an argument against identifying Richard as the Dirk baptized 1732 to Elias in NJ?? Jan4 of Hempstead did have a son Elias5
---------------------------------
c) Son4 (Jan3, Derck2, Johannes1) b. by 23 October 1732 NJ (candidate --but not most likely--to be John4/Elsie Dunbar b. 1733 )--see “Speculation” page.

About DAVID5 BREWER (Derrick/Dirk4, Elias3, Derck2, Johannes1)). Also spelled Bruer; (1830 census). He was born in 1762 New Jersey. He married Euphemia Warner circa 1785. The identification of David Brewer's father as Derrick Brower, comes from an 1899 biography left by David's grandson, Jacob Jennings Warner Brewer, "son of Samuel and Mary (Lacy) Brewer, and grandson of David and Euphemia (Warner) Brewer. His great-grandfather was Derrick Brewer, who was of Holland descent." {Likely named for Maternal great grandfather David Willemse}
