19th century picture of Sonagiri

This legacy picture was taken by Edward in 1869. In this picture, Group of Jain temples is clearly visible to us . Nothing is much changed in Sonagiri Teerth kshetra.This place is situated in Datiya district of Madhyapradesh State.There are about 77 great Jain temples spread over two hill. Temple no. is 57 is much important for devotees due to miraculous results experienced by devotees.In this temple principal deity is of Savior chandraprabh. This place is known as Siddha kshetra or place of liberation(Salvation).About 5.5 crores ascetics along with nang anang kumar got salvation from this sacred place.Many of sculptures in these pantheons belong to 9 to 10 century AD
