Itasca DFL Headquartes is a drop off location for United Way 1000 Lakes' project "to equip local students with the materials and confidence they need to get a strong start in school. When you host a drive or donate supplies, you help students across our community access the tools needed to stay on track to graduation."
A caucus is a gathering of neighbors for the purpose of discussing issues and organizing the local DFL party unit. All parties have their caucuses on the same night (in 2026 it was February 3 at 6:30 pm.) Itasca County has 73 voting precincts and prepares a precinct caucus for each one. Delegates are chosen and resolutions submitted.

The 2026 convention was held on March 14.
The convention is held after the precinct caucuses have been conducted and according to the DFL Official Call. All delegates elected at their precinct caucus participate and vote on offices, representatives, and resolutions for the party platform. Visitors are welcome.
Itasca County is divided into 4 legislative senate and house districts. Because Itasca County does not encompass an entire legislative district, but only partial areas, Itasca County DFL cannot endorse candidates; hence Itasca County DFL delegates also attend a convention in their specific senate district to endorse. The senate district conventions also elect officers and representatives to the DFL State Central Committee.
