A caucus is a gathering of neighbors to discuss issues and organize the local DFL party unit. All parties have their caucuses on the same night, and the next statewide precinct caucus date is February 3, 2026.
Itasca County has 73 voting precincts, and 11 DFL volunteers willing to convene caucuses. The conveners will greet you at your caucus location – see poster.
If you cannot make it to your caucus, but want to be a delegate to the convention and/or want a resolution adopted, submit this form.
Many DFL Interest Groups promote resolutions. Follow your issues of concern, and ask if an organization has drafted caucus resolutions...or write your own. Present your resolutions to your caucus, and participants will vote yes or no to adopt it. If adopted, all the delegates at the Itasca County DFL convention will vote on their top resolutions. Those resolutions will be forwarded to the state’s DFL Central Committe for a final vote.
Registration begins at 6:30 pm or earlier. Business starts at 7 pm. Participants must:

Itasca County DFL will submit a list of people that want to be an election judge; that list is compiled from people that sign up at their precinct caucus. The list is given to all election administrators in the county---they must select an even number of election judges from each party. During the 2024 election cycle, Democrats were in short supply. Election judges are needed at your local precinct, at the courthouse on Election Day, and periodically on the Absentee Ballot Board during the 45 days prior to elections. Judges are certified for 2 years.
