International Society for the Advancement of Clinical Magnetoencephalography

The main objective of the International Society for the Advancement of Clinical Magnetoencephalography (ISACM) is to foster the application of magnetoencephalography (MEG) in clinical contexts to help diagnose and treat patients. The society aims to bring together experts from different fields, such as medicine, psychology, mathematics, computer science and physics to collaborate on an international level.

Membership Renewal

We opened membership renewal. Note that we increased the annual membership fee from US$100  /2 years to US$200 / 2 years since 2022, due to keeping stable society management. Registration to ISACM and JBBS 2023 OSAKA  is discounted by more than US$200 for ISACM members .

ISACM 2021 is postponed to 2023 due to COVID-19


Due to COVID-19 pandemic, Chairperson Hirata and Executive Committee decided to postpone ISACM2021 at Osaka by two year (2023).


We decided to shift all ISACMs by two year since 2020 to keep the one-year interval between BIOMAG and ISACM.

2019 Election results

During the ISACM 2019 meeting in Toronto, Canada, results of the election of new Executive Committees have been announced. Newly elected members of the Executive Committee are Dr. Kazutaka Jin (Sendai), Dr. William C. Gaetz (Philadelphia), Prof. Mingxiong Huang (San Diego), Prof Mitsuru Kikuchi and Dr. Daniel Lundqvist. Dr. William Gaetz was elected the Vice-President to follow Prof. Masayuki Hirata as the President-Elect for the 2022-2023 term. We thank Prof. Nobukazu Nakasato, Dr. Hideaki Shiraishi, Prof. Andrew Papanicolaou, Dr. Stefan Rampp and Dr. Timothy Roberts for their support and help.


Prof. Masayuki Hirata took over the president's office for the 2020-2021 term and follows Prof. Hiroshi Otsubo. Prof. Hiroshi Otsubo remains in the Executive Committee as the Past President. Prof. Hirata designated Prof. Kikuchi as the Secretary and Dr. Gaetz as the Treasurer.

Call for Nominations for ISACM Executive Committee

In September 2019, the Executive Committee will be rotating off five members, who have successfully served their 4 year term to completion. We are seeking new individuals to serve on the ISACM Executive Committee.
