* 3d and Legal Use & Forensics

Here is a communication I recently had with a company that creates 3d/stereo images for expert witnesses and attorneys:

Karl,

Sorry it took so long to respond. I have been working out of state for the past week. The stereos are used extensively in a wide variety of cases. Due to my background in Geology, I do a lot of work in land use and land hazard areas. I don't generally track the cases after the fact. There are also a lot of technical firms specializing in expert witness work that have learned to make their own stereo images, like Exponent, Inc. Try www.exponent.com. Generally I prepare the images for various experts or attorneys. The three dimensional viewing is useful in all types of case when it is important to give the jury a better understanding of the relative position or shape of one object to another, and the detail in a stereo image is much better than a single image because of the depth perspective.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
