Current Representatives:
The current postdoc representatives are Christian A. Flores Gonzalez, Sujin Eie, Shih-Ying Hsu, and Daniel Baker.
New representatives are chosen every other year, from volunteers amongst the present postdoc cohort at ASIAA. Typically, one or two representatives from the previous cohort will remain in contact to assist the new representatives.
Responsibilities:
The postdoc representatives have three major responsibilities:
1. To increase interaction between postdocs and between postdocs and the rest of the institute.
2. To optimize the efficiency and efficacy of the policies that affect our research and our professional environment.
3. To ensure that postdocs have a voice in shaping the policies that affect our professional environment.
Activities:
To fulfill their responsibilities, the postdoctoral representatives will regularly canvas opinions from the postdoctoral community at the institute either through face-to-face meetings, or online webforms. They will then synthesize responses and present these findings to the Director for presentation to the Faculty.
The postdoctoral representatives are also responsible for the Friday afternoon Happy Hour, and upkeep of this website.
