There are usually (but not always) four representatives working on behalf of the postdoctoral researcher community at the institute. You can find out more about the current representatives and their activities here. Generally, it is the job of the postdoctoral representatives to canvas the opinions of the postdoc and student members of the institute for matters pertaining to its running and operation (e.g. prior to the yearly board meeting, during the selection process for a new Director), identify points of issue, then report these findings to the Director or members of the Faculty.Â
Postdoctoral researchers have the opportunity to serve on various committees at the institute, aiding in the operation of said committees and running their activities. At the time of writing, the Colloquium, Summer Student, and Education and Public Outreach committees all have accepted representatives from the postdoctoral researchers. If you would like to be an active participant in the activities of the institute, these committees are a good place to volunteer your time.
