This page consists of writing/presentation assignments that I completed for my Geology, Communication, and Technical Writing classes over the course of my undergraduate career.
The first presentation includes "The Yellowstone National Park Super Volcano" from a Communication 101 course in Spring 2014. It was an "Informative Speech" presentation - the powerpoint and outline are attached to this page.
The second presentation includes "The Dangerous Effects of Geo-engineering In Response to Global Warming" from a Communication 101 course in Spring 2014. It was a "Persuasive Speech" presentation - the powerpoint and outline are attached to this page.
The third essay, "Wisdom and Knowledge," (Knowledge and Wisdom Essay) which was written for an Earth Resources course in Fall 2014.
The fourth essay/presentation, "Mercury and Cadmium" (Term Paper and Geology 201 Powerpoint) was also written for Earth Resources in Fall 2014.
Essays five through eight are essays/presentation from Technical Writing in Spring 2015: "The Process of Becoming a Freelance Writer," (Project 1) "The Process of Becoming a Freelance Writer: An Essay For a Potential Writer," (Project 2), "Promoting Geoscience Literacy for Public Decision Making" (Project 4), and the Project 4 Presentation (also known as Project 5).
The ninth essay, "The Dotsero Volcano" (Geologic Attraction Assignment) was from my Geology 306 course in Spring 2016 - a two-week "demonstration field trip" in May to Utah to dig up dinosaur bones.
The tenth essay, "The Licking Creek Formation: Environment of Deposition and Facies within the Early Devonian" was a term paper written for my Sedimentology and Stratigraphy course in Fall 2016.
The eleventh essay, "Valley Ridge Formations, Members, and Groups Exposed Near Franklin West Virginia" is a formal compilation of notes that I took during my three-day field trip to West Virginia for my Sedimentology and Stratigraphy course in Fall 2016.
The twelfth presentation/notecards, "Dinosaur Sighting Presentation/Notecards" is a presentation that I gave on dinosaur eggs for my Geology 104 class in Spring 2017.
The thirteenth essay, "Dinosaur Sightings Report" is a compilation of 4 dinosaur sighting reports that I did for my Geology 104 class in Spring 2017.
The fourteenth and final essay, "Dinosaur Writing Assignment" is an annotated bibliography of 4 K/T Extinction articles for my Geology 104 class in Spring 2017.
