Types of FE Exchanges
By Joelle White Brennan
Cabin Groups
This is the most tradition type of FE Exchange. Groups are assigned based on number of cabins. Groups are usually 10-15 cabins however smaller groups of 5-8 cabins are becoming more popular especially on shorter sailings.
Common Types of Cabin Group FE Exchanges include:
● General FE
● Adults Only
● Magnet
● Ornament
● Recipe
● Candy
● Postcard
1:1 or Individual Exchanges
In this type of exchange individuals (rather than whole cabins) are assigned to groups. Group size is usually 6-11 individuals. This type of exchange is ideally suited to situations where variable cabin numbers can create unequal giving/receiving such as a Kids only exchange where a cabin with 1 child would be giving to a cabin with 3 children and 3 would be giving to 1...does the 1 child buy for 3 but only receive once in exchange?
Common Types of Individual Exchanges
● Kids Only
● Sock
● Beer
● Tsum Tsum
● American Girl Apparel
● Anything else the group is interested in exchanging/collecting
SHOT GLASS EXCHANGE:
This event will be held (Date and Time) (Location) I will hand out tickets starting at (Time). to those who confirm you are going to this event.
You will receive one (1) ticket once you give one (1) shot glass and I will check you off this list. All ticket stubs will be put in a hat. All shot glasses in the exchange will be displayed for the group to see. Then, one (1) ticket will be pulled and the winner gets to choose one (1) shot glass. That person will then pull the next ticket. We will randomly draw tickets until all shot glasses are gone. (You don't have to use tickets, any numbering system will do)
No late entries once we start at 10 a.m.
If there are folks in your party and not on Facebook, please comment their name and I will add them to the list.
Cabin to Cabin Exchange
This type of exchange offers a more personal gift giving experience or a good option for late comers wishing to participate but short on time that might be needed to organize gift for a group of cabins. Cabins are pair together with 1 cabin exchanging with 1 other cabin. The 2 cabins can decide whether they wish to exchange multiple times or just once and what information beyond the basics that they would like to share.
