What Is "Two-Step Verification"?
Two-step verification or two-factor authentication, or 2FA are the same. It is a verification process that adds an extra layer of security to your Hotmail account. Many users are using it.
With 2FA, if anyone is trying to access your account. They have to enter the password and code received on your phone. And hence it possible when they have both. It means when someone tries to hack your account, a person will ultimately fail in doing so.
Hotmail authentication is divided into types: one you know (password, zip code, security question), one you have (phone, credit card), and one you are ( your biometric, face or voice recognition, or retina scan).
When you combine about two or three authentications, it harder to get into your account. Also, your account is less attractive to target by hackers.
