Google Gemini also works with a library of media for stock images and videos
Open up Vids from the Google Drive menu and Gemini requests a prompt with an existing doc for context.
Based on that prompt, Gemini suggests a narrative outline for the story that I can easily edit and customize. And after choosing from expressive styles Google Vids works its magic.
Review the first draft of my story with beautifully designed, fully animated scenes, complete with relevant stock media and music related to my prompt.
Add a generated script to bring the story to life with voice. Add fun videos and photos I captured from Google Drive and Google Photos.
With Vids, you can personalize your story, your way - by recording yourself or by using one of our preset voices by Gemini.
Enrich scenes with high-quality music and media from Google's stock content library or your own, to really make your story shine.

Google Vids is still in alpha testing with pre-selected Google Workspace accounts. A public beta of the product is anticipated this summer 2024.
Update: Google Vids is available by default for all Google Workspace and Gmail accounts.
Follow the Google Workspace blog to learn more and filter results by product. There's been a ton of improvements throughout 2024 and 2025.
There are four options at the beginning of your Google Vids development journey:
Help me create - This means leveraging Gemini for generative AI content creating guidance.
Templates - 50 unique styles of themes pre-loaded with graphics, ideas, layouts, etc. You can preview and select scenes, even all scenes for a cohesive look.
Record - Record video directly in Vids with recording studio
Upload - Start by uploading your own media like videos, mp4, gif, png, jpg, images via your computer
10 minute video time limit
Although Gemini takes control of producing much of the videos, fine tuning it may be difficult for those not familiar with video editing or video production. There definitely is a learning curve still present for your average users.
Veteran video content creators may find the lacks polish for professional demos. Final products are more appropriate for internal project presentations similar to those powered by Google Slides.
Quality is determined by the effectiveness of your prompts to the Gemini engine powering Google Vids. These influence the storyboard, scenes and feeling of the video.
Small selection of stock music, media, themes, voiceovers and images might get recycled.
Right now, it doesn't support vertical format videos.
Google Vids, like Google Slides and a host of other products, supports multi-user live collaboration. You can see where your teammates are working on the storyboard. Remember that Gemini prompts can incorporate (attach) materials from Google Drive like documents outlining the goals of the video. Therefore, you can easily add in work from others to enhance production. Comments is also mentioned in the Google Vids Learning Center Cheat Sheet, which has step-by-step instructions.
You can now use Google Vids with Google Classroom to generate video content for students based on your own lesson plans. Attach Google Vids to assignments or add to a stream. This present a whole new way to leverage AI at school for teachers. Here are some more examples for those on Google Workspace for education:
Turn your slide decks into video lessons
Record teaching demos, introductions and welcome messages
Collaborate with student over video projects
Share videos easily via Google Drive
