Is the ceremony inside or outside?
The ceremony will be held outside on a beautiful grass lawn overlooking Lake Baron.
Where is the reception going to be held?
The reception will be held a short walking distance from the ceremony under a large canopy. In the event of bad weather, we will utilize an indoor space adjacent to the canopy.
What is the set start time?
The ceremony is set to begin at 2:00pm and the reception will follow immediately after.
How long is the reception expected to last?
The reception is expected to end around 7:00pm. Our venue requires all guests and vendors to completely vacate the grounds by 8:00pm.
Is parking available?
A small parking lot will be available on the grounds but we recommend utilizing carpools or taxis, especially if you plan on drinking alcohol throughout the reception.
When is the RSVP date?
We kindly ask that you mail your RSVP back to us by July 13th, 2014.
Am I allowed to bring a guest?
Each invitation will indicate the number of seats reserved in your honor. Please do not exceed that number by inviting other guests. For example, if your invitation is addressed to you as a couple, only two seats will be reserved for you.
Am I allowed to bring children?
Unfortunately, due to venue and budget restrictions we will be unable to accommodate children at our wedding. We would be happy to help you find childcare accommodations for the day of the wedding.
What will the weather be like?
Typically, September in Lake Tahoe is cooler than the summer months, but can still be quite warm. The weather during the day is usually around 60-70 degrees with little or no wind. Nighttime does cool off to 45-60 degrees, on average. Rain and snow are not typical this time of year and humidity is very low.
What do I wear?
Our wedding is beach-themed and we request semi-casual or formal attire. We do recommend bringing warm layers as the ceremony and reception will both be held outdoors and the weather can sometimes be cooler this time of year.
When should I arrive to the wedding?
The ceremony is set to begin promptly at 2:00pm, so we please ask that all guests arrive at least 30 minutes early to park and find seating.
Is it a buffet or plated meal?
Our reception will hold a buffet-style meal.
I am from out of town, where are some places I can stay?
There are many types of accommodations in South Lake Tahoe, it just depends on what area you would like to be near. You will receive referrals in your invitation and we will also include a few here on our website under the "Accommodations" tab.
Should I be concerned about elevation change?
The wedding and surrounding hotels are about 6,500 feet above sea-level. Oxygen levels will be lower than they are at sea-level, so we want our guests to be aware of that. For healthy individuals it often isn't an issue. For those with difficulties breathing, you may want to consider this before making travel plans.
Are you registered anywhere?
We have opted out of the "typical" wedding registry experience and are only utilizing HoneyFund, an online honeymoon registry. On this website, you can make monetary donations of any size for our honeymoon "gifts." We recommend only sending cash or check as the website automatically takes a percentage of any credit or debit card transactions.
