Spring Events

Even with the slightly below average temps, it's possible to feel spring in the air. Finally!

With that, we'd like to bring your attention to some events happening in and around our neighborhood and some ideas to consider for this year.

First, gardening. We keep hearing about the increase in food costs, the quality of food, etc. Planting a garden is as difficult as you want it to be. Crops such as lettuce, tomatoes, and squash can be grown with little to no effort in a small raised bed or pot (to keep the rabbits out) or caged enclosure (for those pesky squirrels). Have a bigger area to plant or bigger ambitions? Take it as far as you want to go - while being mindful of county code and your neighbors of course! If you have any questions, visit a garden center like Poor Boys, one of the Home Depot stores, or ask someone who already has a garden! Herring Run Watershed will also be happy to help with your landscaping ambitions, providing recommendations for native plants, and information about rain barrels amongst other services. Remember - if you buy a tree there are coupons available!

Second, attached is the Spring Fling flier, brought to you by Baltimore County. As you can see on the flier, there are a bunch of great events held at places like Cromwell Valley Park, local area vineyards, and our public schools and universities.

If you have any questions, or anything you'd like to bring to our (and our community's attention) let us know!
