Registration is now open for our 2024-2025 Running to Class 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run ! November 17, 2024 at 12pm.
We were excited in the Spring of 2021 to host our inaugural "Running to Class" event, a COVID-friendly virtual 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run. With almost 200 participants and raising over $5,000 for Harvard Public Schools the event was a great success. In January 2024 the race came back in person... Congratulations to our runners who braved the snowy weather and hills of Harvard to complete this years wintery run!! Hot chocolate was well earned by all.
New to the Harvard Public Schools? Our New Family Liaison Committee is facilitated through the school guidance offices and is here to help welcome you and assist in your transition to the Harvard Public Schools. Check out these New Family Resources to help you get settled.
September is an exciting time of year for your incoming Kindergartener! The PTO is pleased to sponsor a Popsicle Picnic every fall to welcome these new students to Hildreth. Stay tuned for details about the 2024 fall picnic coming soon to the Hildreth playground.
The Annual Harvard Flea Market, hosted by the League of Women Voters and the Harvard Schools Trust is a fabulous town event where thousands of bargain-hunters browse through more than 180 booths of antiques, collectibles, and household treasures. Local organizations sell a variety of foods and drinks. All were disappointed when the 2023 Flea Market was rained out but the PTO looks forward to hosting a table in fall 2024 to share information and offer PTO Swag.
Our second annual pickleball tournament was a great success! 20 teams came out to raise some money, enjoy the sunshine and compete in this casual double elimination style tournament. Many congratulations to our advanced bracket winners Team GGG (Phan and John) who took home the grand prize Marcus Lewis Memberships and to our intermediate winners Team Pats (Rutu and Arav) who scored new pickleball bags. We hope to see you all in fall of 2025!

This year we've enjoyed hosting HES Principal's Coffee and Principal's Cider & Donuts where parents and guardians stopped by to grab a coffee or snack, say hello and casually chat with the Principals. Even more popular, in 2023 we hosted the first ever Principals Game Night at HES in February with a cafeteria bursting at the seams with kids and families playing board games, eating pizza and enjoying one another's company. Join us for an event soon!
We were excited in 2022 to host our 2nd Annual HES School Tour Night and our 1st ever TBS School Tour Night. Parents, gaurdians, students and community members stopped by to enjoy some fall snacks, tour the schools and chat casually with the new administrators.
We are pleased to publish the HPS Student & Staff Directory including contact information for teachers, staff, administrators and students and distributed to supporting members annually in the late fall. The directory is proud to feature artwork selected from student submissions each year.
The Square 1 Art Program was a great success in 2023-24 thanks to our fabulous art teacher, Ms. Owens! Thanks to those of you who purchased keepsakes of your child's art and helped to support the schools.
We were delighted in Fall 2023 and again in 2024 to partner with the Silver Unicorn Bookstore for the annual PTO HES Book Fair. The 2024 sale featured over 210 titles all published within the past 18 months and carefully selected by Paul Swyndon, the owner of the Silber Unicorn. Students had a great time browsing the titles and adding to their personal libraries. Many thanks to Mrs. Q for her hard work in coordinating this annual event with the PTO.
The PTO is pleased to have a team of judges participate in the Bromfield Science Fair each spring. In 2024 the PTO presented awards to seven worthy science projects. We were especially delighted to present the Marc Thompson Memorial Award, given annually to a student whose project exemplifies the values that Marc looked for during the many years that he served as a science fair coordinator and judge. Look for the plaque featuring Marc Thompson award in the TBS science department!
The fifth annual HES PTO Readathon is underway! The readathon is designed to engage students, support their love of reading and to optionally raise funds for the schools. Last year, a record-breaking 135 readers participated and all together read a whopping 73,012 minutes raising almost $2000! All of the students who participated received certificates, bookmarks and PAWSOME HES Readathon water bottle stickers and leading classes and readers were rewarded with extra awards. Great job readers! We can wait to watch you break through this record in 2025 and to see which class claims their place on the Readathon Plaque in the library!
The 2024 Spring Soiree was a wonderful success. Over 100 attendees joined us in their best Denim and Diamonds attire at the Red Tail Golf Club and together raised over $8000. This wonderful evening featured live local music, food, friends and fundraising! Don't miss the next soiree in Spring 2025!
In spring 2024 almost 300 students and guardians joined us at the End of the Year Event at Kimballs Farm in Westford! The rain couldn't stop us as we celebrated the end of the school year with a day of family and friends at Kimball Farm in Westford! If you didn't make it this year please plan to join us in 2025 under our private tent for food and ice cream, and for Kimball's activities and celebration with friends and family.
In July of 2024 the PTO participated in the Harvard 4th of July parade with our third annual "float" (aka decorated truck and flatbed) and lots of support from members and their families.
