The Gerund (page127,) http://www.homeenglish.ru/Grammargerund.htm -Докладне пояснення правила.
Герундий - це безособова форма дієслова, яка має ознаки як дієслова так і іменника. В українській мові така форма відсутня.
В реченні герундій може виконувати функцію додатка та підмета. (та інше)
Утворення: до дієлова додається +ing, to read+ ing= reading, to learn+ing=learning.
I like to read = I like reading. Мені подобається читати.= Мені подобається читання. (додаток)
To learn English is interesting. = Learning English is interesting. Вивчати англійську мову- цікаво.= Вивчення англійської мови -цікаво. (підмет)
ся тільки герундій. До них відносяться:to give up- відмовлятися __________ I gave up smoking a week ago.
to be afraid of -боятися
to be famous for -бути чимось знаменитим
to be fond of -захоплюватися
to be interested in-цікавитися to be worth of-цінити
to be proud of-гордитися
to depend on-залежати
to insist on (upon)-наполягати
to know of-знати
to object to-заперечувати
to prevent from-попереджувати
to think of-думати про
to go on- продовжувати ___________Go on learning English.
