Kathryn Bess Sevcik was born 25 Sep 1885 in Tama, the largest city in Tama County, Iowa. Her parents were Joseph and Anna (Miklas or Niclas) Sevcik. Katie, as she was known, was the youngest of five, with three older sisters and one older brother. The parents and three oldest sisters had immigrated from Bohemia in the early 1880s. More on the Sevcik page. The Sevciks moved to Belle Plaine, Iowa in about 1896, and I have no pictures and little information about them before that time.
Katie looks about 16 here, I'm guessing, so this would have been about 1901, in Belle Plaine.
Katie on the right, probably with one of her sisters. It looks like the same dress as above, but with an odd hat.
I believe these are the four Sevcik sisters, with Katie second from left.
I think Katie is about 20 here.
Katie married Frank Haloupek on 3 Jun 1908, in Belle Plaine, Iowa. I don't have a wedding photo. They lived in Belle Plaine all their lives, and had six children. See the Haloupek page for more about Frank and Katie and their children. Also see the Haloupek house where the family lived for many years.
Katie and Frank with their first child, Donald Albert, who was born on 22 Jan 1911. Don looks about 1 or 2 here, so this picture was probably taken in 1912, Belle Plaine.
From the "Haloupeks Join Century Club" article on the Frank Haloupek page:
"Mrs. Haloupek is a daughter of Joseph and Anna Miklas Sevcik and was born Sept 25, 1885 at Tama. Six years later the family moved to a farm where they remained three years and on July 6, 1869 [sic, I think this should be 1896] located in Belle Plaine. Here she attended the grade school. She is a member of the Royal Neighbors and her hobbies are crocheting, raising flowers and collecting salt and pepper shakers. The most interesting thing in her life was trying to raise her children to live clean lives and to give them good schooling."
Frank and Katie in 1929, after all six of their kids were born.

Katie and Frank celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on 3 Jun 1958.
Katie (Sevcik) Haloupek passed away on 14 Jan 1963, in Belle Plaine. She is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine, alongside her husband Frank, who died in 1965, her son George and his wife, a marker for her son Walter who was killed in WWII, and her son Donald's first wife, Helen.
