Ann Arbor Guitar Studio

Brian Roberts

Brian Roberts, Classical Guitarist, Teacher, Composer and Arranger.

Welcome to the my Guitar Studio Page. Teaching private classical guitar lessons is one of the most meaningful and enjoyable things I do. I enjoy sharing music and seeing people experience the lasting pleasure that fine music making brings to them. I teach beginning adults and children from age 8 and up, through advanced university level. I enjoy working with both casual or involved students. We work on a balance of technique and musicality, playing a wide variety of music in the relaxed and personal environment of my home studio. I have limited times for private guitar lessons in Midtown Detroit and in Dearborn. I'm also available for lessons in music theory, ear training, reading skills, music arranging and music composition.

Weekly lessons are 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length; I have openings available at various times of the day and week. Please contact me if you would like to find a lesson time convenient for you. If you live a long distance from Ann Arbor, you may arrange longer separate lessons. I teach students that travel from Livonia, Northville, Canton, Jackson, Farmington, Rochester Hills, Chelsea, Saline, Brighton, Lansing, and other surrounding areas in Metro Detroit, as well as Toledo, Ohio and Windsor, Ontario. I also have limited times available in my downtown Detroit and Dearborn studios. Aside from private lessons, I periodically have group classes and student recitals.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

This is me playing my 1968 Ramirez concert guitar way back in 1972 in the room where I gave my first private lessons in my home studio. It was in 1972 that I also began teaching at my first college. Teaching community students at home and teaching performance majors at colleges and universities has been an important part of my life ever since. Behind me is a cello case made be my first cello teacher.
