Gitano Guitar Support
A great alternative to the footrest. It's small, comfortable, stable, foldable, and fits in most cases while still on the guitar. Because you don't remove the suction cups, they stay very firm. This is what I use and I highly recomend it. I've had mine on my guitar for over five years and the suction cups haven't slipped or moved in that time. (If your guitar is finished with French Polish or another porous material, you'll need to install plastic tap plate material on the guiar under the place where the suction cups go.)

Nail Care
Glass Fingernail File
Very fine filing. Cuts rather than rippes. Nail requires less smoothing after use. Easy to clean and can be sterilized with heat or boiling water. Frequent use reduces nail chipping and peeling. Dip in water for a flawless finish. Use on artificial nails as well.

Available at most autoparts stores, in the touchup section. This and a glass file is all you need for nail shaping and surfacing your nails. Cut into roughly 2 1/2" squares, and wrap around file to use. 3M Imperial Wetordry Sheet, 9 in x 11 in, Grade 1000, Pack of 5 Sheets for around $12 including shipping. This amount will last about five years for most guitarists. 3M has the most flexible backing for controlled smoothing.
Hoofer's Choice Nail and Cuticle Cream
Also available locally at Sally Beauty Supply store. Strengthens and conditions present nails and cuticles. Does not affect growth, but is immediate. I use in combination with Onymyrrthe.

A good and inexpensive source for Chinese Exercise (Health) Balls. A big selection of sizes and styles. The marble and stone ones are not recommended, but all the other styles are. Great for limbering up the hands and developing greater hand and finger coordination,
as well as for general relaxation for musicians and typists, etc. I would recommend the 47mm size, for guitar players, made of hollow iron, coated with chrome plating or cloisonne, not ones made of stone.
