Sapphire Randale was born to two human parents who abandoned her shortly after birth, upon discovering her Were nature. She was promptly enrolled in the Guild’s schooling programme for gifted children at Ottman’s Boarding Academy where it was discovered she was particular skilled in magic and rituals. Sapphire spent most of her life living at the Academy and was elected as Head Prefect in her final year before graduating with the highest honours.
After graduating, Sapphire went straight into working for the Guild as an investigatory ritualist. Her main roles included assisting Guild missions when rituals where required and acquiring important and useful artifacts. She rose quickly through the ranks before, in 2016, following on from the retirement of her predecessor, Sapphire was appointed Head Ritualist for the Guild, the youngest in the history of the Guild at the age of 23.
Sapphire is very keen on encouraging loyalty and camaraderie among the Guild, especially a pack instinct between the Weres. She can be fiercely protective, similar to a lioness.
“I’m too young for this,” thought Sapphire.
She knew this was her forte. Her strengths were in rituals. That was why she was the youngest Head Ritualist ever. But to perform a protection rite on the whole Guild House while it’s under attack?! Someone had to be playing a practical joke on her. This couldn’t be real.
Unfortunately, this was real and some kind of shield was the only thing that was going to help. Her specialty. She’d named herself Randale after all - ‘shield wolf’. Sapphire Randale seems an utterly stupid name now but that’s what happens when someone lets a four year old choose their own name.
Sapphire was a long way from home but still had her box. This box has been a gift on her graduation from Ottman’s Boarding Academy from someone who was even further away right now than home. The box contained everything a ritualist would need to pull off any ritual from blood to holy water, from skulls to ceremonial rum.
Sapphire prepped everything she needed and took a deep breath before organising the other ritualists. While they would help channel power into the ritual, she needed to be able to lead it, to prove herself worthy of her title. She owed the Guild her loyalty and she was prepared to give everything to see them triumph.
This wasn’t going to be easy.
It never was.
