Calling all Juniors and up!

If your Scout is interested in learning about media careers, then Media Girls is the place to be! This is open to all Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassador Scouts.

Applications open on September 1st and will close on September 30th. Click HERE for more info and to complete the application for the new year.

It's Spooky to be Hungry 2026

Early Bird Registration is OPEN and it ends on Sept 11th, so make sure you get your troop registered!!

 • October 31 – Campaign Closes • November 5 – All Donations Due

 • November 17 – Spooky Celebration and Winners Announced 

Donation Competition

There is a points competition, and the winners will receive a really cute trophy!!

Competition Rules Only food and funds collected between October 1-31 will count toward the competition. The team earning the highest number of points will win the Spooky award for the Public Service Award category in Georgia or South Carolina. 

Scoring

 • 1 pound of food = 1 point

 • $2 = 5 points **Per GSUSA Guidelines, we are not allowed to ask for cash donations, but this is part of the scoring, so that's why it's included on here**

Bonus Point Opportunities

 • Early Bird Registration Bonus: Register by September 11 for 200 Bonus Points

 • Tour or Volunteer Bonus: Sign up for a tour or register your group for a volunteer shift between August 3–October 31 for 300 Bonus Points

 • Delivery Bonus: Deliver your donations by November 3 for a 200 Point Bonus

 • Tag Bonus: Tag Golden Harvest Food Bank and use #itsspookytobehungry, #scareawayhunger, and #neighborsfeedingneighbors. Send a screenshot of one (1) post to Nora Ruotolo at nruotolo@goldenharvest.org, and you’ll get 200 Bonus Points!

 • Special Event Bonus: Host a special event or competition to raise money. See our Scare Away Hunger Campaign Toolkit for ideas! Share the results with us. Put the proceeds toward your goal and earn another 300 Bonus Points! **Per GSUSA Guidelines, we are not allowed to raise money for other organizations, but this is BP Opportunity, so that's why it's included on here**
