Ice Fishing in Full Swing

1/8/2011 - The ice on the lake is 8-10" thick. Groups of ice fishermen were posted across the west end of the lake in 4 - 15 feet of water. They report fishing has been slow. One group with several tip ups caught three Large Mouth bass between 13 and 15" long. The strong northerly winds make setting up an ice shack worth the effort.

3/18/2010 - With the lake near completely ice free, fishermen were out in a canoe and kayak this evening. Some also fishing of Jones Island. They reported that nothing was biting around the island but that they caught a few Large Mouth Bass off the norther shore near Cecelia.

1/30/10 - Five or six groups ice fishing on the lake today. Clear sunny skies and no wind made the 20 degree temperatures comfortable. The most successful Father/Son team was jigging in 15' of water with tip-ups stationed at a 6' depth. They reported small Northerns and Bass but no keepers. Most other groups reported little luck.

Though ice remains on the lake, the excessive warm rains make conditions poor today (12/24). Just two groups on the lake.

Just a few guys out this morning (Sunday 12/20) in the channel and o n the east side of the lake. Nothing was hitting on minnows in the channel.
