Lake Access

Grays Lake is a public lake but can be difficult to access because much of the lake's perimeter is privately owned.

The lake is best accessed through Jones Island. Here the Grayslake Park District maintains a free public parking lot near Alleghany and Harvey.

Grays Lake can also be accessed by the public off of Lake Street by taking George Street until it dead ends into the lake. This is a good place to launch a boat but there is no parking here. Parking is available in town.

The other public access point is off of Getchell and Bluff. Follow the Getchell right of way down to the water. There is no parking here however. The last access point is at the end of Augusta off of Harvey Avenue. This access point is really for the residents of the area and public parking is non-existent.

Attached are Lake County maps that show the only public access points.
