Lake Clean-Up Event
About 50 people showed up to clean up the lake, from kids and parents to scouts and scuba divers. A few bags of trash were pulled out of the rocks lining the lake and the woods and brush near Route 120. Much of the garbage consisted of plastic bags, styrofoam cups and bait containers, cans and other debris. The Park District did a fabulous job of mobilizing citizen volunteers and local merchants to benefit the namesake of our village.

In June, a second application will occur to selectively eradicate clasping leaf pondweed in response to resident requests.
