I enjoy translating technical scientific discoveries for the public and broader audiences. I like writing about research in a variety of fields, including health, environment, and astronomy to name a few.
I like interviewing authors and other scientists, and then write about their discoveries and share their points of view. I believe it is an important aspect of the research process to have members of the scientific community share their perspectives, and I like to reflect those on my writing.
I have written about cancer research for the communications department of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. My article focused on prostate cancer.
I also like writing about public health. As part of one of my writing courses, I wrote a press release about the effects of long-term used of touchscreen keyboards.
I like the topic of evolution, especially when it involves the origin of diseases. As part of one of my writing courses, I wrote a science news article about a controversial discovery involving tick fossils and Lyme disease.
