Trevor and his agility practice pal Sierra took a break from AKC this weekend and went to the Bay Team USDAA trial in Santa Rosa. The highlight was our pairs round. We were brilliant! So why was the judge blowing her whistle at us? Oooooh... maybe we forgot that baton thing. This is what happens when AKC people try to do USDAA. We thought it was hilarious, and it made our day.
Other than that, Trevor Qed in the rest of his runs:
Too bad our next USDAA opportunity won't be until April.
This weekend I tried to loosen up a little on babysitting Trevor's contacts. For the first time in a while, I didn't feel like I was walking on eggshells. But we still have a long way to go.
Angela, Sierra's mom, commented that in Trevor's videos from this trial, you don't see him looking around so much. Hopefully he is starting to get more comfortable and confident and not feeling the need to constantly check out his surroundings.
Today (Monday), the day after the trial, Trevor was digging at the end of our walk, and he suddenly cried out. He had broken one of his front toenails. It was so bad that we had to take him to the vet and get the whole thing cut off down to the knuckle. Now he's in a bandage. Poor baby! I'm hopeful that he'll at least be able to do his jumpers runs next weekend in Santa Rosa (AKC), but it remains to be seen.
