Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) issued for RIM

Good news! Your friends at GNO-ARMA found out there is a Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) that is directly applicable to Records and Information Managers! This is indeed exciting news for all of us because it was the missing link for RIM to stand on its own as an actual, official position. ARMA had been trying for years and the SOC was turned down in 2010, but through separate channels, the US Government started work on it to satisfy the Presidential RIM Mandate from 2009. With this SOC, we are now not lumped in with records clerks and will likely see a bump in pay. The range for US Government RIM personnel seems to be between $68K and 92K. We actually out-scooped ARMA on this one.
