I think I have figured out what my biggest concern is about the UK. In short, it's the land of "Just Enough". Initially, I thought tat this was a fantastic concept. Not one that gels well with me, since I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, but conceptually good, none the less.
However, what I have come to realise, is that "everyone" (probably an unfair stereo type) does "just enough". You don't get good service, you get just enough service. You don't get good products; you get something that is just enough. This leaves you feeling annoyed, irritated and confused. Well, it does, me, anyway. Continuously getting "just enough" eventually culminates in bad service, from people providing bad quality with bad products.
Why is no one proud of what they are doing? Why does no one try to provide a wow factor? The UK is not a communist country, so surely if you work harder and show what you are worth you stand to gain financially, if simple personal pride is not enough. Does it mean that people in the UK have it so well, that no one needs to or wants to do better? Could it be that the country has simply lost its soul? Lost the fighting spirit to become better, faster, and stronger and now are happy to just exist?
I don't get it. Maybe it's just me.
