The GCB received a request from Hon. Ernest Quarm , Assemblyman for Gomoa Akropong/ Ekroful
Electoral Area in the Gomoa East District in the Central Region of Ghana.
He said, as part of his developmental project in his electoral area and the district as a whole, he set up
a soccer project called Gomoa Soccer for Change Project to unearth talent and give opportunity and
exposure to the young ones in our society.
In sourcing for kits for the project, he sent a request to kits4causes in UK- a non-governmental
organization assisting with soccer kits. They accepted the request and agreed to get some soccer
equipment for the project but did not budget for oversea shipping this year so he needed to get an
organization in UK that could assist us by receiving the goods and sending them to us here in Ghana.
That is how he got in touch with the GCB after finding us on the internet.
Following from this request the GCB took the challenge, got in contact with kits4causes and collected
the kids with collaboration with our sister organisation in the Midlands, where kids4causes are based.
After a few negotiations and arrangements, and by the assistant of some of our members, especially
Dr Steven Badu, the kits were shipped to Hon Ernest Quarm on 10th July, 2014.
The picture below shows kids under the project during training session.
