ELECTED EXECUTIVES FOR 2022 - 2024
Members of the Ghana Union Bradford successfully conducted their first ever online election on January 2022.
The newly elected officers were inaugurated into office by the Patron of the Union Mr. Dan Nugba (pictured) during the first quarter meeting held on 5th March 2022 at MAPA.
Before the inauguration, Mr Nugba thanked the out-going Executives, and all who contested for the elections. He called on members to rally behind the the new executives in rebuilding the Union post-Covid. He urged them to work selflessly and with professionalism in all their dealings.

GUB AWARDS STUDENTS
The Ghana Union Bradford has been rewarding GCSE students for the past four years. The 2018 ceremony was held during the 2nd quarter meeting on 2nd June 2018 at MAPA, Bradford
The Awards ceremony is to encourage students within the community to strive towards excellence. This particular award was however not about grades or how well a student had done academically, its about achievement and completion.
Students who qualify for this award must come from African or Caribbean decent and must have successfully completed the GCSE exams. To day, over 20 students had received the awards some of whom had gone on to be medical or pharmaceutical students at their respectively universities.
If you wish to support this awards in future or indeed sponsor a child's education either here in the UK or in Ghana, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will arrange to support that desire.
GUB ORGANISES DAY TRIP
The Ghana Union Bradford organised a family day trip to the sea
side resort of Scarborough on 12th August 2017. The trip was heavily subsidized by the Union to enable as many members and the general public as possible to be a part of.
The trip was meant to afford parents the opportunity to have some time with their children who are on school holidays. At Scarborough, the group part took in various games, enjoyed the rides and some went on the speed boats.

GUB HOLDS FIRST GUB DAY TO MARK 7TH ANNIVERSARY
On 5th August 2017, the Ghana Union Bradford held its first picnic and Ghanaian traditional and conventional games day dubbed GUB DAY. The day is to mark the 7th anniversary of the formation of the Union.
The family day event started at 11:00am and went on till 7:00pm. Among the activities and games enjoyed by those who attended were, bouncy castle, table tennis, pool game, oware, draught, counters flipping, playing cards and others.
Music was provided by GUB Soundz.

The founders of the Association released the video below to celebrate their nomination for Best Ghanaian Association in the UK for 2011.
DENTAA, FOUNDER OF GUBA VISITS BRADFORD
GCB hosted Dentaa during its 3rd quarter general meeting held at MAPA. Dentaa who is the founder of GUBA foundation here in the UK visited Bradford to personally express her appreciation to the association for their recent fund-raising event in aid of one of GUBA's charities - AUTISM IN GHANA.
During GCB 5th Anniversary celebration, the association made funding for GUBA's Charity its main focused and also invited the founder to the celebration. Dentaa was however unable to come but sent a representative as she was out of the UK at the time. She therefore decided to come to Bradford to meet with the members and to express her gratitude for the support.
GUB JOINS CLIFTON PRIMARY SCHOOL
Members of the Ghana Union Bradford joined Clifton Primary School in York to celebrate their International Day. The GUB is one of two acts to represent the African continent.
Ben Tetteh did a presentation of Ghana to the school children who took turns in groups to attend the workshop. After Ben's PowerPoint presentation Mariam Sarfo-Ababio took the children through the various traditional dresses and cultural practicies in Ghana. Each group's workshop is ended by culture dance and azonto dance moves led by Wisdom Sateklah and Mariam.
