Backyard Pools
I highly recommend Josh Fox to open and/or service your swimming pool. He has been servicing our pool for the past 5 years and he is affordable, dependable, and very knowledgeable. Josh told me he has room for 3 more clients at this time.

Water testing
If you are on a well and would like to get your water tested here is a recommendation:
The following EPA web site will give some guidance for well owners: http://water.epa.gov/drink/info/well/index.cfm .
The County is one of the best resources to help you select parameters to test. Please contact Howard County Department of Environmental Health at 410-313-2640, or Bert Nixon at 410-313-1785, or bnixon@howardcountymg.gov . Our office provides a list of certified water quality laboratories.
If you have any questions about laboratory certification, please let me know.

Radon testing
If you are on a well, it is my understanding our neighborhood is located in a very high radon concentration area. I would like to recommend National Water located in Ashton, MD. www.nationalwaterservice.com . Their phone number is: (301) 854-1333. They have serviced our entire water system for the past 15 years and I highly recommend them. For more info concerning radon and drinking water see www.epa.gov/radon/rnwater.html .

I contracted with Affordable Radon Reduction, Inc. They offered what I considered to be a fair price. They came on time as scheduled and completed all the work in five hours. They are Licensed, Bonded, EPA Approved. There workmanship was excellent and very professional. All was clean and neat and all trash removed. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs this service.

You can have your water tested for radon. I suggest you go on Google and put in “test water for radon Maryland”. Our water tested high for radon and now we have a filtering system to take care of the problem.

You can buy test kits online, too. You take a water sample and mail it back to the company for testing. Kit and testing may run you $25-$30 (plus postage). Watch out! Some kits sell cheaply, but then you have to pay additional for the testing.
