Howard County Police Contact Information
Officer Steven Mitzel is our community contact from the Howard County Police.
If you want to report a crime call the non-emergency number 410-313-2200. If you think there is drugs or underage drinking going on somewhere you may also call the non-emergency number and report suspicious activity. If you wish you can say that you want to remain anonymous. Give as much information as you can, such as you think there are drugs involved or underage drinking. They will assign someone to check it out.
You may also report non-emergency type of suspicious behavior in the neighborhood to Kevin Hiden at hiden@comcast.net. He will collect and forward such information to Community Resource Officer Steven Mitzel who will meet with parents if juveniles are offenders and explain to them that they are liable for any crimes, thefts or damages that the minors cause.

Disposal of unwanted or expired medications

The Howard County Police Department and HC Drug Free have unveiled three permanent medication disposal boxes in an effort to assist residents in disposing of unwanted or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications safely and anonymously. The new permanent boxes will be fixtures maintained by the police department that will allow residents to drop off unwanted medications 365 days a year.
They are located at the Northern District Station (3410 Courthouse Drive in Ellicott City), Southern District Station (11226 Scaggsville Road in Laurel) and Gary Arthur Community Center (2400 Route 97 in Cooksville).
The Loan Closet of Howard County
The ‘Loan Closet of Howard County’, run by the Howard County Government, has donated medical equipment for those who cannot afford these items or perhaps have a short-term need. Useful for folks to know if they have a need, or know someone who has a need, or if they want to dispose of equipment no longer needed.
It is located at Long Reach Village Center, 8775 Cloudleap Court, Suite 11, Columbia, MD 21045 - phone 410-313-0363.

Please notify us to get your email address listed in our databse. This address list will be used to send notifications for important issues and events such as announcing the Citizen's Association annual meeting or informing neighbors of the dates of managed deer hunts.
