Motivation & Objectives
- The main objective is to a high-performance blood pump.
: The high performance of blood pump is increased blood pressure efficiency and reduced damage on blood.
- In order to understand fluid physics inside a blood pump, simulations are performed existing blood pump.
Achievements
- In order to estimate the damage on blood by the pump, applying the hemolysis model calculating Blood Damage Index (BDI).
: The eulerian approach for BDI (Garon & Farinas, 2004) is employed.
: A scalar transport equation derived from BDI is solved.
-The existing 4 model of blood pump are estimated by vlaues of BDI in various conditions ECMO, VAD and full-load.
