e-Bugeye Project Overview

I've consolidated this project blog with my evTD and PorschEV pages so there is one point of reference for all of the family EV's, including the commercial ones, from now on. The old pages will stay for reference, but new activity for everything will be posted to:

Here we will document the electric conversion of my 1960 Austin-Healey Sprite. I purchased this car as an empty tub in 1986, along with a 1965 rust bucket parts car. I got the Bugeye on the road in 1992, and since that time have modified it and driven it lightly. As a candidate for electric conversion, it is small, light, somewhat aerodynamic, with known good body, brakes, steering, and suspension. And I own it. The challenges are that it is very small and has no trunk lid for access to rear batteries. The motor will be a Warp 9, the controller an Evnetics Soliton1, and the battery pack made up of 72 100Ah GBS Lithium cells for ~230 volts.
