Lots of treats. Consider your dog's dietary requirements and preferences.
Another high-value reinforcer. Maybe your dog's favourite toy, tug or frisbee.
Appropriate management of their dog. It is a high arousal environment, so we usually opt for lots of space between dogs.
Dog poop bags. Please pick up after your dog.
Appropriate weather gear. Hats on sunny days, closed toed shoes always.
To be attached to their handler via a standard length lead. Dogs must be on lead at all times unless instructed otherwise.
To have appropriate equipment on their body. FDOC recommends flat collars and harnesses. Equipment on the dog’s body should not apply pressure to the dog’s body or restrict movement of the dog’s limbs.
Short, well maintained nails. Long nails can alter a dog's stride and can risk injury.
No apparent injuries. Safety is our priority, if our instructors notice an injury, we will ask the dog to sit out of training.
Access to clean, fresh water. Available at training.
