What Is Flyball?

Flyball is drag racing for dogs. Two teams of four dogs compete in divisions based on their combined speed. One dog at a time jumps over four hurdles, triggers a box to retrieve a ball and carries that ball over the four hurdles back to their handler where the other dogs are waiting their turn.

All breeds of dog compete in flyball from tiny chihuahuas to giant hounds, not just your traditional working dog. All that's required is a dog that wants to run, chase, jump and most importantly loves balls!

Flyball training at Frankston focuses on having fun with your dog. Unlike many other dog sports, flyball is a team sport; so in addition to building a great relationship with your dog, flyball also has a great social aspect to it, with many long lasting friendships forming between team mates.
