Every pet owner has the duty to make sure their four-legged friend is healthy, happy and safe. The following guidelines may help. Being a responsible pet owner so our community can be safe for all its citizens.

• Make sure your pet is up to date on all vaccinations.

• Keep a collar and tag with your contact information or has a microchip.

• Get your pet spayed or neutered

• Provide a heartworm prevention and give flea and tick control during the warmer months

• Never left your pet outside without shelter, water and food.

• Regularly groom and bathe your pet (about every 6-8 weeks)

• Leash your pet when off of your property and don't allow him/her to roam.

• Clean up after your pet in public spaces.

• Never leave your pet unattended in a vehicle in hot weather

• Create an emergency fund for health issues: consider pet health insurance. There are several available.

• Provide proper nutrition & avoid bargain brands with low quality fillers.
