Responsible Pet Owner
Every pet owner has the duty to make sure their four-legged friend is healthy, happy and safe. The following guidelines may help. Being a responsible pet owner so our community can be safe for all its citizens.
Make sure your pet is up to date on all vaccinations.
Keep a collar and tag with your contact information or has a microchip.
Get your pet spayed or neutered
Provide a heartworm prevention and give flea and tick control during the warmer months
Never left your pet outside without shelter, water and food.
Regularly groom and bathe your pet (about every 6-8 weeks)
Leash your pet when off of your property and don't allow him/her to roam.
Clean up after your pet in public spaces.
Never leave your pet unattended in a vehicle in hot weather
Create an emergency fund for health issues: consider pet health insurance. There are several available.
Provide proper nutrition & avoid bargain brands with low quality fillers.
