Nini Mamisashvili - President
Hi everyone! I’m Nini, I’m the President of BGSA for this school year. I’m from Georgia (the country) and I’m doing my 5th year of PhD in Dr. Nasrallah’s lab. We investigate GABA-receptor mediated tonic inhibition. I got my undergraduate degree at Pace University in Neuroscience and Chemistry. When I’m not busy with academics, I enjoy playing video games, reading, painting, and making music. I look forward to getting to know all of you!

Hello, my name is Laila and I am the Vice President of the BGSA for 2025-2026. I am in my sixth year as a PhD student in the Kundakovic Lab where I study the molecular mechanisms of metabolic function by ovarian hormones. I graduated from Drexel University in 2016 with a degree in Biology, Nutrition and Biochemistry after which I went on to work as a clinician in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit caring for preterm infants and studying growth and metabolism. In my free time I enjoy exploring new restaurants in NYC and training for my next triathlon.
