Library Carrels: While the "grad student lounge" in Larkin is adequate, you may want somewhere quiet on campus to study. If you don't have desk space in your lab, or if your lab is at Calder and you need a place on campus, consider a library carrel. These are cubicle desks located all over the library (Biology has a few reserved on the 4th floor) that have a locking cubby for storing books, paper, and snacks. To acquire a desk, head to the Administration office on the 2nd floor of Walsh library. A $15 deposit gets you a desk and a key for your cubby. You have the ability to kick undergrads out of your desk if they're there. The lease runs June through May, and has to be renewed every year.
Rodrigue's Coffee: Tired of paying over $5 for faux Starbucks coffee from various official campus eateries? Head to Rodrigue's! This is a student run coffee shop located in the Alumni House behind Martyr's Court dorm building. Bring a re-usable cup and coffee is $1, tea is $0.50. For a disposable cup, just add $0.25. They also do fancy espresso drinks, that range from $2-3. They also have plenty of tables, wi-fi, music, and a pool table! No food though, but the Deli is right next door in Queen's Court dorm
