Salutations! I’m Rose Beemer and I will be teaching in kindergarten and first grade during this school year. My career as an educator began in 2001. Just prior to joining CHIME, I was the Director of Student Support at Chatsworth Hills Academy. Additionally, I taught 5th grade for 6 years at Mayfield in Pasadena before the birth of my first child in 2009. I then served as the Curriculum Director for the preschool where most of my children attended.
My educational background includes both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Linguistics with a minor in Communication Disorders and an emphasis in language acquisition. In addition to a credential as an education specialist, I hold a post-Master’s certification in Educational Therapy. My first degree was actually in theater, and I received a diploma from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City—something that has come in handy when working with little ones!
In my time away from work, I enjoy reading, traveling, ballet, gardening (we have a rose garden, an edible garden, and a butterfly garden!), partaking in activism for the rights of animals, and relaxing on the beach. My wife and I have 5 kids between us, ranging from ages 9 through 13 (the youngest 4 are currently at CHIME), plus we have 3 dogs.
I look forward to starting my fourth year at CHIME, teaching in the lower grades, and to a new year of adventures and fun times in first!
