Update (July, 2026):

We always say LARP players are cool, but we sincerely hope you can stay cool and hydrated this season. And while you're waiting patiently for the return of pleasant autumn nights, take a few minutes out of each day to revisit a favorite book or book series you last read ages ago. You might find familiar characters and exploits inspire new ideas for your own game sessions, and who knows where that will lead? Maybe you'll even write and present the next great LARP and enjoy the heady heights of LARP success! OK, I admit the hyperbole is creeping in, so I'll finish this for now. Work continues on our next published LARP, Conspiracy of Ravens, the official sequel to Carnival Arcane: The LARP (our first published product). Note that Conspiracy of Ravens is a stand-alone adventure. You need not play Carnival Arcane first, but if you do, we think you'll find both events more satisfying. As always, watch this space for news.

What's Special About Our LARP Scenarios?

The FYI team has more than 50 years of combined experience writing and presenting LARP events for private groups and at conventions across the Midwest. We take pride in creating and running enjoyable, parlor-style LARPs that are full of surprising plots and unique twists, and we like introducing players to the hobby. Our event runners are always happy to offer advice and guidance, and most of our events include roles for people who never played a LARP before.

Many of our current and planned published scenarios draw inspiration from the gothic horror soundtracks of Midnight Syndicate, which you hear playing every year at Halloween stores and haunted house attractions across the USA. If you want to introduce your friends and family to LARPing but can't bring them all to a convention, our pre-packaged LARP scenarios let you run an enjoyable and memorable event and contain almost everything you need, including but not limited to the following:

• Historical information and context for the scenario

• Informative character sheets and useful player handouts

• Game Master (GM) plot summaries and reference sheets

• Tips for advertising your event and attracting players

• Suggestions for costuming, set decoration, and, occasionally, menus (for those who enjoy hosting)

• Advice and tips both for GMs and for new players

We strive to include great advice for GMs in all our products, but we recommend that you feel comfortable running parlor-style LARPs (or at least table-top RPGs) before you try running one of our events.
