The Astypalaia Bioarchaeology Fieldschool takes place on the Island of Astypalaia, Dodecanese, Greece (map here)
Field school is next planned to run from 1 July to 30 July 2025.
We ask students to arrive 29/30 June 2025 ready to start work and then we expect them to leave Astypalaia by 1 August, depending on travel options.
We work 8 hours a day, 6 days each week. That adds up to a total of 26 working days.
We only consider applications for the full duration of the field school.
Director of field school: Dr Simon Hillson, Professor of Bioarchaeology, UCL Institute of Archaeology, University College London, UK. For all enquiries please email simon.hillson@ucl.ac.uk
