Café Lights Installation Grant (FAQ)
The Federal Hill South Neighborhood Association (FHSNA) has been awarded a grant from the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership (SBGP) to help enhance neighborhood safety through improved outdoor lighting. Through this program, FHSNA will award two $500 grants to assist with the installation of café lights on neighborhood streets within the association’s boundaries.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any resident living within the FHSNA boundaries, generally encompassing the area bordered by Light Street, Cross Street, Covington Street, and Fort Avenue, is eligible to apply for one of the two $500 Café Lights Installation Grants.
How do I apply?
To be considered for a grant, complete the Café Lights Installation Grant Application and email it to federalhillsouthna@gmail.com by July 30.
What does the grant cover?
Each grant provides $500 toward the cost of installing café lights. Applicants are responsible for coordinating the installation and covering any costs that exceed the grant amount.
Who installs the café lights?
FHSNA recommends local contractor Chris Broughton, who has installed café lights throughout South Baltimore neighborhoods. He can be reached through Facebook (@Chris Broughton), by phone or text at 410-241-4696, or by email at chrissbroughton@gmail.com.

Residents are responsible for contacting the installer, obtaining any necessary approvals, and coordinating all aspects of the installation. If your application is selected, FHSNA will provide the $500 grant directly toward the installation cost.
