This is the set of 2025 Saturday Walks to October 2025. The remainder of the year's Saturday walks will be decided at the September AGM.
We are also running shorter monthly Friday walks over the summer. These are shown on a separate page.
Anyone wanting to come along on a walk is asked to send an email to fenedge.footpathgroup@gmail.com which will be communicated to the walk organiser. This system is run alongside a googlegroup email, so please use this group email instead once you have subscribed.
For planning reasons most organisers prefer more than one weeks notice if you'd like to join the walk.

Fen Ditton to Cambridge pan shaped walk about 7 miles
We walk alongside Fen Ditton meadows, then follow the river into Cambridge as far as Bridge Street. From there we do a loop around the city centre, along the Backs and from Silver Street we wend our way to the Grafton centre, where we can have a comfort stop and rest on indoor benches. From there we go back to the river and retrace our steps to Fen Ditton.
Meet at 10:00 in High Street Fen Ditton opposite the church (w3w ///eradicate.denote.stability), where there are some parking spaces beside the road. If the spaces are full you can park further down on the roadside.
The walk is mostly on hard surfaces, so you should not encounter any mud.
The route around Cambridge can be adapted/shortened if necessary. Fen Ditton to Midsummer common and back is about 5 miles.

A circular walk from Therfield Heath, Royston, to the village of Therfield and back about 7 miles. There is a pub at Therfield that serves sandwiches or ciabattas (with chips and salad) for £11 - £13 or if you bring your own refreshments there are picnic tables on the green opposite the pub.
As it is a bit further to travel, I suggest meeting on the green at 9.30 to arrange car sharing or alternatively meet at the large carpark by the golf club, (grid ref 348 406, whatthreewords - proves.scare.fended) at 10.15.
The footpath is muddy in a few places so come prepared.

A 7 mile circular route in the Ouse Valley starting at the nature reserve just outside Little Paxton. It takes in a working gravel pit, young woodland, ancient pasture including an old farm with dovecote, then along part of the Buckden village circular walk to the River Ouse. We then head back along the Ouse Valley Way to the car park. You’re never far from a large body of water, so bring your binoculars.
Meet at the Green at 9.15am for lifts, or 10.00am at Paxton Pits Nature Reserve car park (TL 195629, W3W rental.looks.ounce). The walking is flat, mostly dry underfoot with the odd sticky patch and we should be back at the cars by 1.30 - 2.00pm. There are toilets at the nature reserve visitors centre and some discrete cover half way round
