The Cottenham Walk Local walking group has been running since 2016 and is still going strong, originally set up by the Charity SUSTRANS, the group is now independent. Walking is a good activity to meet new people if you are have recently moved to the area, and to keep yourself active and connected to other local residents.
So please come and join our friendly free walks, we meet most Tuesdays outside Cottenham library. From September to April or May over the cooler months we meet at 11am, and May or June, July & August we meet at 10am to avoid the mid-day heat. The summer start time of 10am is the current meeting time.
Everyone, whatever ability, is welcome to join our group, to relax, enjoy cheerful company and support and get some gentle exercise. The walks around Cottenham are leisurely, usually about 2 miles long and take an hour or so. By agreement within the group very occasionally we might have a walk elsewhere instead of the Cottenham walk for a little variety.
We may also have occasional adhoc short walks at different times and days slightly further afield in nearby accessible places such as Histon and other local villages and Cambridge.
Please email Claire at the FEW email address: fenedge.footpathgroup@gmail.com for more information on these walks.
