The Fame TV series was based on the 1980 movie of the same name, which was written and created by Christopher Gore and directed by Alan Parker. Produced by MGM, the TV series first aired in 1982 and ran to 1987 producing 136 episodes which span 6 seasons.
My name is Mark and I live in the U.K. and in 1982 when the show started I was 14 years old. Instantly the show attracted my attention as it was unlike any other TV show. I totally loved the music, the dancing, the energy and the wonderfully likeable cast. Although I had no desires myself to be an actor, singer, dancer or any other kind of performer, I became gripped by the shows storylines.
In fact obsessed is probably a better word and from the albums, singles, books, magazines, annuals to the concerts and episode and finding out more about the cast my whole life became dominated by the show.
As I write it's nearly 28 years since the show started and I still enjoy the episodes today and I have watched them so many times. It became my quest to obtain every episode, firstly on video and now on DVD. This hasn't been easy as only the first season has been officially released.
So come with me now and explore every episode of each season, to discuss the highs, the lows, the good and the bad, the happy and the sad! There's everything you could ever want to know about the episodes and more!
