Gloria Montemayor

Gloria Montemayor was a hairstylist working in America TV since the early 1970s. She first received a credit in 1971 for the TV movie "Cannon" and worked steadily after that on TV Movies and series like "Charlie's Angels", "Goodbye Raggedy Ann", "Barney Miller"and "The Horror at 37,000 Feet".

She also worked on major films like "Freaky Friday", "The Black Hole" and "Herbie Goes Bananas". In 1972 she worked with Fame cast member Ken Swofford on "Skyjacked".

In 1981 she started working on "Fame" as the sole hairdresser. She worked on 82 episodes including all of Seasons 1, 2 and 3 (except the pilot) and selected episodes of seasons 4 and 5.

In 1982 she was nominated for an Emmy for "Outstanding achievement in Hair styling" for the season 1 episode "The Strike".

After "Fame" Gloria continued working on TV shows like "The Twighlight Zone", "Beauty and the Beast", "Matlock", "Father Dowling Investigates" and "Star Trek Voyager". The latter gained her 2 further Emmy Award nominations.

In 1990 she worked on the TV movie "Polly Come home" with Debbie Allen directing and in 1994 she worked on "Gypsy" with Cynthia Gibb which gained her another Emmy Award Nomination.

In 1997 she won the Emmy for the TV Movie "Mrs Claws".

She continued to work until 2007 when she retired.
