Mammoth Lakes: 2 members of the Mammoth Motorcycle club (and 1 non member) met with 3 officials from the USFS yesterday to begin talks over issues concerning the future of trails and trail development in the Inyo National Forest.
During the 2 hr meeting, the two groups discussed several thorny issues, including future loop signage, wilderness implementation, and the multiple vehicle use maps (MVUM).
“Yes, I feel we’ve started out on the right foot here,” said James Connolly of Mammoth M/C, “In meetings like these, keeping clear direction is extremely important."
More meetings are expected, and Mammoth M/C board members are hoping for some initial results by December 2010.2010.
