Ida Pfeiffer was born in Vienna, Austria in 1797. She was one of the first female explorers, and she wrote many popular books. In 1842, she traveled to the Black Sea and Istanbul. Then, she continued to Palestine and Egypt before going to Italy and back home. She published a book about her journey and earned some money.
Then, she was able to go to the north of Europe and Iceland. She wrote two more books about her trip. In 1846, she started on a journey around the whole world. She visited Brazil, Chile, and other countries in South America. She also went to Tahiti, China, India, Persia, other parts of Asia, and Greece. Again, she wrote a book about her exploration.
In 1851, she made another trip around the world, traveling to many different places. Finally, she made a trip to Madagascar. Ida Pfeiffer explored many places that people did not know much about. She did a lot of important reports about people around the world and collected many different examples of animal and plant life.
