The 1st European Workshop on Political Macroeconomics (EWPM) took place on 29-30 March 2016 at Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) Mainz, Germany.

The first day of the workshop was devoted to a presentation and discussion of existing research projects, with a 45 minute slot (including discussion) being reserved for each participant: see the links (below) to the programme (including the list of participants) and to the photos (of all participants presenting).

During the second day of the workshop, an open discussion was held to identify plans for the future, joint research interests, and potential future collaborations. To foster this process, a 10-minute outline on up to 5 research topics considered of highest policy relevance by each participant was proposed. Participants had to distinguish among:
